If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Manchester. They will look to defend their home turf on Friday against James River at 7:00 PM. Manchester have yet to lose; James River, on the other hand, are desperate for their first win.
Last Friday, Manchester put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They took the game and then some with a 47-3 victory over Midlothian. Junior Isaiah Todd, who rushed for 120 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in Manchester's success.
Meanwhile, James River came up short against Clover Hill, falling 21-31. It was a tough break for James River, who improved upon an already decent score from two weeks ago but lost both times.
Manchester's victory lifted them to 4-0 while James River's defeat dropped them down to 0-5. If Manchester want to win, Manchester will need to focus on stopping James River's senior Conner Dusenbury, who caught passes for 175 yards and 1 touchdown, and Reece Hamilton, who passed for 328 yards and 2 touchdowns. We'll see whether or not they are up to the challenge.
