Alexander had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. Everything went their way against the Edinburg Bobcats on Tuesday as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Bulldogs as they're now sitting on 22 straight.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Alexander took every set by at least 12 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-7, 25-13.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alexander to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brianna Espinoza, who had 13 digs and four aces. That's the most aces Espinoza has posted since back in October. Andrea Garcia was another key player, getting 11 digs and four aces.
They weren't the only good servers: Alexander was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Edinburg only served three.
Alexander's victory bumped their record up to 31-4. As for Edinburg, their loss ended a six-match streak of away wins and brought them to 31-15.
Looking ahead, Alexander will square off against Austin on Thursday. Edinburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
