Academy Charter had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 62-61 photo finish over American History. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Bald Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ihjamir Williams, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jabaree Christopher, who scored 12 points.
The victory got Academy Charter back to even at 4-4. As for American History, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy Charter won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Noor-Ul-Iman at 6:00 p.m. on January 19th. As for American History, they will head out on the road to challenge Montclair Kimberley Academy at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
