In basketball, the summer also allows players the opportunity to prove themselves against the nation's best talent in front of the watchful eyes of college coaches.
Here are eight players who have taken that opportunity and run with it on the club circuit this summer:
Dahmir Bishop, Imhotep Charter (Philadelphia)Height: 6-4
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Tough Philly guard has impressed throughout the spring and summer months after helping Imhotep win back-to-back state titles. Bishop picked up offers from Wake Forest, Rhode Island, Texas, Xavier and Florida in the month of June alone.
James Bishop, Mount St. Joseph (Baltimore, Md.)Height: 6-2
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
The second Bishop to make our list, James has established himself as one of the elite scoring guards in the senior class. He dropped an Under Armour Association high 43 points in his second game of the season and led the league with 28 3-pointers in eight games. He also finished second in scoring, averaging 22.8 points per contest.
Terren Frank, Sierra Canyon (Chatsworth, Calif.)Height: 6-7
Class: Junior
Position: Forward
Sierra Canyon will be in the conversation for preseason No. 1 in high school basketball and Frank will be a big reason why. He averaged 17.8 points and 6.8 rebounds during the Nike EYBL regular season of the Nike EYBL and earned an offer from USC in late June.
Kira Lewis Jr., Hazel Green (Ala.)Height: 6-3
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Alabama Mr. Basketball candidate averaged 20.4 points, 3.7 assists and 2.2 steals per game during the Nike EYBL regular season, putting himself himself firmly in the five-star prospect conversation.

Jaden McDaniels, Federal Way (Wash.) Height: 6-foot-9
Class: Senior
Position: Wing
Emerged as a star on the Nike EYBL circuit, leading Seattle Rotary to its first Peach Jam berth since 2012. McDaniels averaged 19.2 points and 9.2 rebounds per game for Rotary on the heels of a monster season at Federal Way.
Brandon Newman, Montverde Academy (Montverde, Fla.)Height: 6-3
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Averaged 18.3 points and 5.1 rebounds per game this spring/summer for Chicago-based MeanStreets, earning third team All-EYBL honors. He recently announced his transfer to defending GEICO Nationals champion Montverde Academy.
C.J. Walker, Orlando Christian Prep (Orlando, Fla.)Height: 6-8
Class: Senior
Position: Forward
Overshadowed a bit during his junior season at OCP by North Carolina-bound Nassir Little. This summer, Walker had no such problems, averaging 15.9 points, 9.9 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game during Nike EYBL regular season play. Runner-up for the EYBL Defensive Player of the Year according to D1Circuit.com.
Mark "Rocket" Watts, Old Redford Academy (Detroit, Mich.)Height: 6-2
Class: Senior
Position: Guard
Watts led Old Redford to its best record in school history in 2017-18 at 18-6. This summer, he continued to establish himself as one of the nation's top prospects, averaging 25.3 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game. Watts posted a 43-point game in EYBL play and led the circuit with 56 made 3-pointers.
