The Lowell Red Devils will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kouts Mustangs & Fillies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lowell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Lowell has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 53-28 margin over Munster. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up eight more assists than your opponent, as Lowell did.
Kirstin Summers continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Lowell's points. Another player making a difference was Bre Kidd, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Kouts' 17-8 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. The contest between Kouts and Morgan Township wasn't particularly close, with Kouts falling 47-28. While losing is never fun, Kouts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Morgan Township is ranked 74th).
Lowell pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Kouts, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.
Lowell was taken down by Kouts 65-35 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Thankfully for Lowell, Allison Capouch (who went 10 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 42 points and 2 assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
