Jackson Academy is 0-10 against Madison-Ridgeland Academy since September of 2019 but things could change on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jackson Academy comes in on five and Madison-Ridgeland Academy on nine.
Last Friday, Jackson Academy blew past Pillow Academy, posting a 42-7 win. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Mustangs are ranked 133rd) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.
Josef Walker had another great game (as he tends to do), throwing for 103 yards and four TDs while completing 76.9% of his passes. Austin Clark was another key player, rushing for 55 yards and one score.
Meanwhile, Madison-Ridgeland Academy got the win against Simpson Academy last Friday by a conclusive 35-12. The Patriots pushed the score to 35-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cougars cut but never quite recovered from.
Madison-Ridgeland Academy's win came from a few key players Jackson Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Michael McCrory, who rushed for 36 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two). Madison-Ridgeland Academy also got help from Jack Dalton, who showed off his sure hands for 94 receiving yards.
Jackson Academy's record now sits at 9-1. As for Madison-Ridgeland Academy, their record is now an identical 9-1.

Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant signal callers against one another: Walker and Samuel Stockett. Walker just won't slow down this season and has thrown 19 touchdowns (and no picks) while averaging 154.6 passing yards per game. Stockett has been a dominant force too and has thrown 23 touchdowns while averaging 266 passing yards per game.
Jackson Academy couldn't quite get it done against Madison-Ridgeland Academy when the teams last played back in September as they fell 35-24. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Stockett, who threw for 281 yards and a pair of TDs. Now that the Raiders know the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
