Lathrop and East Buchanan are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Lathrop Mules will be playing at home against the East Buchanan Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lathrop is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Lathrop put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Cameron 60-40. Given Lathrop's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 19th, while Cameron is ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, East Buchanan unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak two weeks ago. They took a 57-41 bruising from Lawson.
Lathrop pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for East Buchanan, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Lathrop took their win against East Buchanan in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 42-20. Will Lathrop repeat their success, or does East Buchanan have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
