Wausa extended the longest winning streak in D2 District 4 (8 Man) this week by beating Newcastle, 62-8. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Vikings.
Wausa took down the Raiders 62-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Marcus Claussen threw for 63 yards and one touchdown and ran for 94 yards in the win.
Stuart's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Alex Kunz threw for 170 and two touchdowns and Mason Dexter had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Kunz chipped in 197 yards. Andrew Broders helped Stuart's passing attack out by catching three balls for 60 yards.
Rusty Fuller's team's Claussen and Trevor Wakeley have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Claussen has thrown for 818 yards this season, while Wakeley, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 13 catches for 261 yards. The Broncos' Kunz leads the league in rushing yards with 644.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Wausa takes on second place Stuart. The Vikings topped Newcastle last week, while Stuart lost to Wynot.
