On Saturday, Westover got the W thanks in part to Richard Vanderhost playing the best football he has all season. Vanderhost threw for 230 yards and three touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also rushed for 49 yards and two touchdowns.

Jacob Moore Crosses Big Stat Threshold
Jacob Moore's big game helped extend Terry Sanford's winning streak to three on Thursday. Jordan Bryant produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Overhills to the win on Friday. He has become a key player for Overhills: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise.
Western Harnett had to have seen this coming; the last time they saw Bryant it was a similar story. When Bryant last faced the Eagles back in September of 2023, he threw for 198 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 38 yards and a touchdown.

Justice Clifton Turns in Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles
Terry Sanford was led to victory by Justice Clifton, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Clifton wasn't messing around, picking up two sacks, forcing a fumble, and making ten total tackles (4.0 for loss). The contest was his fifth straight with six or more total tackles dating back to last season.
This year, Clifton has averaged 6.8 total tackles per game and for the season has 6 sacks. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he had one sack.

Latrell Carter Makes Top Five
Rounding off our Top Five is Latrell Carter of Pine Forest. Carter rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. He's now once again averaging 100+ rushing yards (105.8) per game.
Pine Forest moved to 3-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. Carter and Pine Forest will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Triton at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.
