Softball Recap: Haslett Sets Scoring Season-High Against Eastern

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Haslett). Everything went their way against the Eastern Quakers on Tuesday as they made off with a 23-5 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what the Vikings needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Payden Whitmore was a standout: she fired off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while going 3-for-4. Those home runs were her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Riley Wheeler, who fired off two home runs and six RBI while going 2-for-3.

Haslett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .788. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win snapped Haslett's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-8 record. As for Eastern, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Haslett will venture away from home to face off against Charlotte at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Vikings are facing the Orioles at the right time seeing as the Orioles are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Eastern, they will take on Central at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
