Jasper hadn't done well against Lockwood recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 5-4. This was payback for the Eagles, who suffered an 11-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Quentin Winans made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Winans was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Treyton Ritchhart was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run. Clayton Anderson was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Jasper was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lockwood only posted a batting average of .222.

The victory made it two in a row for Jasper and bumps their season record up to 13-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Lockwood, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-10.

Coming up, Jasper will look to defend their home field on Monday against Ash Grove at 4:30 p.m. As for Lockwood, they will head out on the road to face off against McAuley Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
