Founders Classical Academy is 3-0 against IDEA Rundberg since January of 2023, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Founders Classical Academy Archers will head out on the road to take on the IDEA Rundberg Rattlers at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Founders Classical Academy has four straight wins, IDEA Rundberg has six straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Founders Classical Academy proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by 30) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Austin Waldorf 33-31.
Founders Classical Academy found their leader in underclassman Adelis Russell, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Mary Tavarez was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, IDEA Rundberg had to suffer through a rough 52-10 loss at the hands of KIPP Austin Collegiate.
Founders Classical Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. As for IDEA Rundberg, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Founders Classical Academy against IDEA Rundberg when the teams last played back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 44-13 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Founders Classical Academy since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
