Dayspring Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Briggsdale Falcons with a sharp 65-41 victory. The contest was close at halftime, but the Eagles turned on the heat in the second half with 39 points.

Eli Gilmore was a one-man wrecking crew as he went 8-for-16 en route to 19 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Those 19 points gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Micah Rutz, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 17 points and six assists.
Dayspring Christian Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They racked up six more assists than Briggsdale's also-impressive total of ten.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Scot Francis, who posted 13 points along with eight boards and three steals.
