The Kern Valley Broncs will be playing at home against the Bishop Union Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Kern Valley earned a 21-12 win over California City.
Among those leading the charge was Hunter Watts, who picked up 145 receiving yards, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground.
Meanwhile, Bishop Union had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They claimed a resounding 89-0 victory over Desert at home. The result was nothing new for Bishop Union, who have now won three matches by 35 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bishop Union to victory, but perhaps none more so than Austin Powell, who rushed for 82 yards and two touchdowns. Powell was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 50 yards. Kaleb Brooks was another key contributor, rushing for 85 yards and a touchdown.
Kern Valley's win on Friday bumped their record up to 3-5. Bishop Union has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in seven of their first eight contests, giving them a 7-1 record.
Kern Valley might still be hurting after the 26-6 loss they got from Bishop Union when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Kern Valley, Cain Omohundro (who rushed for 114 yards and a touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
