The Barry Western Wildcats on the road again on Thursday and play against the Quincy Notre Dame Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Barry Western will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 669th, while Quincy Notre Dame is ranked 182nd).
Last Friday, Barry Western came up short against Augusta Southeastern and fell 50-38. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Barry Western in their matchups with Augusta Southeastern: they've now lost four in a row.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Luke Weir, who scored 11 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jedd Abney, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Quincy Notre Dame was able to grind out a solid victory over Illini West on Tuesday, taking the game 51-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Quincy Notre Dame.
Barry Western has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season. As for Quincy Notre Dame, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-8.
Barry Western took a serious blow against Quincy Notre Dame in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 71-33. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Barry Western was down 44-12.
