The Rockwell Marshals's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They skirted past Milford 63-60. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Rockwell has posted yet this season.
Leading Rockwell to victory were Luke Henderson and Roman Haueter. Henderson scored 20 points along with nine rebounds and two steals, while Haueter scored 19 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Henderson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last nine times he's played. Another player making a difference was Micah Shattuck, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Milford's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carson Cheney, who scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Dotson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Milford were working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Rockwell is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for Milford, their loss dropped their record down to 10-6.
Rockwell will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Utah Military Academy - Hill Field at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Utah Military Academy - Hill Field is ranked 134th, while Rockwell is ranked 109th). As for Milford, they will be playing in front of their home fans against El Capitan/Centennial Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in El Capitan/Centennial Academy's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests.
