Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on The Ridgway/Johnsonburg at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. After only six points in their last contest, Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley made sure to put some points up on the board against Smethport on Friday. Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley was the clear victor by a 51-26 margin over Smethport. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-6.
Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley can attribute much of their success to Aidan Fox, who picked up 90 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and Brody Dittman, who threw for 232 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes. Fox's longest reception was for an incredible 79 yards. Owen Bish also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 31 points the game before, Ridgway/Johnsonburg were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a serious blow against Brockway, falling 51-7. Ridgway/Johnsonburg was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Union/Allegheny-Clarion Valley's win on Friday bumped their record up to 4-4. Ridgway/Johnsonburg has been struggling this season, as they've lost six of their first eight matchups, which leaves them at a 2-6 record this season.
