Weber is 0-10 against Fremont since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Weber Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Fremont Silverwolves at 5:15 p.m. Weber is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Weber suffered a tough 54-32 loss at the hands of Syracuse. While losing is never fun, Weber can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Syracuse is ranked seventh).
Weber's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Abby Sayer, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals, and Avery Shupe who scored six points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Fremont gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 51-19 win over Farmington. While fans of Fremont might be used to big wins, the 32-point margin marked the team's biggest victory yet this season.
Syncere Langston was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Christensen, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Weber has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season. As for Fremont, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Weber have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32.2 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fremont struggles in that department as they've been averaging 33.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Weber might still be hurting after the 63-43 loss they got from Fremont in their previous meeting back in January. Can Weber avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
