Baseball Recap: Mart's Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak at Home

It was a proper cat-fight when Mart duked it out with Hubbard on Tuesday. Mart's pitcher stepped up to hand Hubbard a 16-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by nine runs or more this season.

D'Angelo 'DJ' Rhodes made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Rhodes was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

In other batting news, Octavious 'Tavi' Gillaspy and Alijha 'Lollie' Johnson did most of the damage at the plate: Gillaspy went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Johnson scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Davis II Damian 'DJ was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances.

Mart always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hubbard only posted an OBP of .250.

Mart's victory ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-3. As for Hubbard, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Mart will have a chance to go back-to-back against Hubbard: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
