After flying high against the Bolton Bulldogs last Saturday, the Ellington Knights came back down to earth. Ellington fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 57-54. It was the first time this season that Ellington let down their fans at home.
Sincere Monroe continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Windsor Locks, scoring 29 points along with six assists and three steals. Monroe has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Hinckley, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two blocks.
Ellington's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-2. As for Windsor Locks, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-2.
Ellington will head out on the road to challenge the Patriots at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Coventry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Connecticut Rankings (they are ranked 95th, while the Knights are ranked 27th). As for Windsor Locks, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Bears at 6:45 p.m. on January 31st. Thomaston knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight matches -- so hopefully the Raiders likes a good challenge.
