Hialeah Educational Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Josiah Brooks, who scored eight points along with five steals. Frientley Francois was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with 14 rebounds and two blocks.
Sebastian Pupo was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and ten assists for Hialeah Gardens. Pupo is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Perez, who scored 18 points.
Hialeah Educational Academy's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 12-6. As for Hialeah Gardens, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
