West Charlotte's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-0 margin over West Mecklenburg. The win continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Hawks: they've now won seven in a row.
Enijah Gary made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 14 over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Saniyah G, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor B, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base.
West Charlotte kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, Hopewell was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They came up short against Mooresville, falling 15-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Blue Devils: they've now lost eight in a row.
Hopewell's loss dropped their record down to 8-5. As for West Charlotte, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Thursday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. West Charlotte has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .584. However, it's not like Hopewell struggles in that department as they've averaged .532. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
