Riverside has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Lightridge Bolts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Riverside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up four on Friday.
Last Friday, Riverside lost to Potomac Falls at home by a decisive 35-21 margin.
Despite the loss, Riverside had strong showings from Ed Abbott, who rushed for 110 yards, and Jeremy McCloud, who picked up 67 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Lightridge, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 34-20 loss to Briar Woods on Friday. Lightridge was down 34-7 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Lightridge's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carter Working, who threw for 306 yards and three touchdowns, and Al Honesty who picked up 123 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Riverside's defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 4-4. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.3 points per game. As for Lightridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-4.
