Having just played yesterday, the Avalon Lancers will get right back to it and host the Magnolia Science Academy Pirates at 5:00 p.m. on January 24th. Avalon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully Magnolia Science Academy likes a good challenge.
On Tuesday, Avalon earned a 60-47 victory over Anaheim Discovery Christian. That's two games straight that Avalon has won by exactly 13 points.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 61 points the game before, Magnolia Science Academy were a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 65-23 loss at the hands of Samueli Academy. Magnolia Science Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-11.
Avalon pushed their record up to 6-14 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Magnolia Science Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.
Everything came up roses for Avalon against Magnolia Science Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 71-18 victory. Does Avalon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Magnolia Science Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
