It was a good run, but Tallassee unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Presbyterian Wildcats. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2017.

Eli Whittington was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chase Chumley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Cash Gough, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Tallassee's loss dropped their record down to 14-9-2. As for Trinity Presbyterian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 19 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season.

While Tallassee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
