The Pebblebrook Falcons missed an extra point against the East Coweta Indians on Friday and it came back to haunt them. Pebblebrook and East Coweta were almost perfectly matched up, but Pebblebrook suffered an agonizing 47-46 defeat. Pebblebrook's loss continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Pebblebrook still got an impressive performance from Dwight Phillips, who rushed for 213 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.8 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Mysonne Pickens, who threw for 217 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes.
Dionte Jones went supernova for East Coweta, rushing for 194 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry. Dural Thompson was another key contributor, rushing for 87 yards and two touchdowns.
Pebblebrook bumped their record down to 2-8 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for East Coweta, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Pebblebrook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. East Coweta will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against North Paulding at 7:30 p.m. on November 10th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (North Paulding is ranked 36th, while East Coweta is ranked 50th).
