The Branford Buccaneers will face off against the Calvary Christian Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Branford sitting on five straight wins and Calvary Christian on 12.
Branford had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Dixie County on Thursday. Branford blew past Dixie County 13-3. Considering the Buccaneers have won seven games by more than nine runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Victoria Swain and Mallory Blue made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Swain tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Blue struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave Swain a new career-low in walks (zero). At bat, Swain scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Blue scored two runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Swain a new career-high in doubles (two).

Branford kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian was able to grind out a solid victory over Tampa Catholic on Tuesday, taking the game 5-2.
Like Branford, Calvary Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Morgen Talley. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Talley was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Braylee Rano, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4.
Calvary Christian pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.4 runs over those games. As for Branford, their win bumped their record up to 13-4.
Both Branford and Calvary Christian just can't seem to miss. Branford has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Calvary Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.2 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
