The Sayre Sabres will head out on the road to face off against High School of the Future at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Sayre has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
Sayre posted their biggest win yet this season on Tuesday. They really took it to Parkway Center City for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-25 victory at home. Sayre pushed the score to 47-20 by the end of the third, a deficit Parkway Center City had little chance of recovering from.
Carlos Brown and Josh Rollins were among the main playmakers for Sayre as the former scored 17 points and the latter scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zahki Solomon, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but High School of the Future ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They secured a 43-39 W over Martin Luther King.
Sayre pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.3 points per game. As for High School of the Future, their victory bumped their record up to 8-6.
Sayre took a serious blow against High School of the Future when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 90-18. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Sayre was down 34-9.
