Blackhawk took care of business in their home opener on Friday (and then some). They breezed by the Beaver Falls Tigers at home to the tune of 57-0. The Cougars pushed the score to 49-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers had no chance of recovering from.
Blackhawk found their leader in underclassman Brayden Mccarthy, who rushed for 134 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries, and also picked up 34 receiving yards and a touchdown. Mccarthy got the majority of those yards when he took off on a run and that went for an incredible69 yards.
Blackhawk wouldn't let Beaver Falls keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. It was truly a group effort as Hayden Magill, Brendan Rodriguez, and Connor Mcgraw picked up one apiece. Magill's also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing a fumble and making a tackle.
Blackhawk is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season. they take on Beaver at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Beaver Falls, they will venture away from home to challenge Imani Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
