Basketball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Royal's Fourth in Last Five Outings

Sealy came into Friday's game looking for another win against Royal, but Zaelyn Shelton wouldn't allow it. The Royal Falcons strolled past the Sealy Tigers with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 67-51 thanks in part to Shelton, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2024.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hale Demaree, who posted 12 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Kane Killough, who put up four points and 11 rebounds.

Royal is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-16 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.6 points per game. As for Sealy, their loss dropped their record down to 13-6.

Royal wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 73-44 defeat against Almeta Crawford on the 28th. As for Sealy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-41 loss against Stafford on the 28th.
