The Belle Chasse Cardinals had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They blew past Assumption 64-36 on the road. Given Belle Chasse's advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Assumption is ranked 359th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kyle Reeves was the offensive standout of the game as he scored ten points along with five rebounds. Jaylen Hughes Ingram was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Belle Chasse's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Assumption, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-12.
Belle Chasse will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Pope John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th. Pope John Paul II will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. Assumption and White Castle will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. White Castle is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
