The Tampa Prep Terrapins put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 66-29 victory over Weeki Wachee. Considering Tampa Prep has won five games by more than 33 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Tampa Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chandler White Brooks out in front who scored 17 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which White Brooks has scored at least 25% of Tampa Prep's points. Another player making a difference was Ben Jackson, who scored 12 points along with eight rebounds.
Several Hornets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Steven Martin, who scored three points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him.
Tampa Prep pushed their record up to 7-0 with that win, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.06 points. As for Weeki Wachee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tampa Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Robinson at 6:30 p.m. on December 22, 2023. Robinson is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.1 points per game. Weeki Wachee will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lecanto at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th.
