The Lyons Lions will face off against the Estes Park Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lyons is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Lyons' pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They put the hurt on Jefferson with a sharp 16-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Zack LaCrosse and Wyatt Fitzgerald were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, LaCrosse struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Meanwhile, Fitzgerald pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Lyons is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-6 otherwise. At bat, LaCrosse earned three runs and one stolen base, while Fitzgerald got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most runs Fitzgerald has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jake LaCrosse, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. What's more, he posted four RBI, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leo Irvin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Lyons always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, Estes Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They lost 18-3 to Front Range Christian.
Estes Park saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caleb Sumner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that Sumner has launched this season.
Lyons pushed their record up to 7-7 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Estes Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lyons has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.9 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Estes Park struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lyons skirted past Estes Park 5-4 when the teams last played two weeks ago. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
