The South River Rams scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Academy for Urban Leadership Charter 82-48 at home. The win was just what South River needed coming off of a 84-55 loss in their prior match.
It was another big night for Alex Grospe, who scored 33 points along with seven assists and two steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of South River's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Teresky, who scored 11 points.
South River pushed their record up to 12-12 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Academy for Urban Leadership Charter, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-20 record this season.
South River didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 76-43 victory vs. Highland Park on the 10th. Academy for Urban Leadership Charter has also already played their next game, a 56-40 defeat against Piscataway Vo-Tech on the 12th.
