Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the Mohave Thunderbirds, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. The contest between Mohave and Sabino wasn't particularly close, with Mohave falling 30-16. It was the first time this season that Mohave let down their fans at home.
Sabino had a senior duo take command as Mason Cade gained 107 total yards and two touchdowns and Cameron Hackworth rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns. Shamar Berryhill did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 90 receiving yards.
Mohave's defeat dropped their record down to 11-2. As for Sabino, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-3.
Mohave does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Sabino will head out on the road to face off against Paradise Honors at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Paradise Honors' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last 11 contests.
