The Barringer Blue Bears were expected to have a tough go of it on Saturday, and that's exactly how things played out. They ended up on the wrong side of a painful 70-42 walloping at the Irvington Blue Knights' hands. Barringer won against Irvington in their previous head-to-head last month, too, but their margin this time around was much wider than that 65-52 finish.
The Blue Bears' loss pushed them down to 5-12. Irvington's win brought them up to 14-3.
The Blue Bears will take on Newark Tech today. Newark also suffered a recent defeat, falling 70-62 to West Side. Irvington is on the road again today and plays against Bloomfield. The Blue Knights won't have the home-court advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
