They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 70-49 walloping at the hands of First Assembly Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for St. George's in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the defeat, St. George's saw an underclassman step up: Tristan Farris scored 25 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Farris has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Jones, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
St. George's has not been sharp recently as the team's lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for First Assembly Christian, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 20-3.
St. George's will head out on the road to take on the Lynx at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First Assembly Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Harding Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while the Crusaders are ranked fifth).
