The Fatima Comets had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They enjoyed a cozy 67-50 win over Tipton. Given Fatima's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 46th, while Tipton is ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dane Schlotzhauer, who scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Bailey, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Fatima's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Tipton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Fatima will be home for the holidays to greet Blair Oaks at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tipton is on the road again on Saturday and play against Cuba at 2:30 p.m. on December 16th. Cuba will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
