Hammond Morton took down Hammond Central on Thursday, a win that might not have happened without Gerard Garnett's standout effort. The Wolves had no answer to Garnett as he went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Garnett has become a key player for Hammond Morton: the team is 9-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-15 otherwise.

Coming up, Garnett and Hammond Morton will take on Lake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Governors have some work to do to even out the 1-6 series between these two since May of 2015, but a win here would be a good start.
