After a string of four wins, the Leonardtown Raiders's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Bowie by a score of 43-41. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Leonardtown has scored all season.
Carlyle Glover and Landon Windell certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Glover scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and three steals, while Windell scored 14 points. The match was Windell's fifth in a row with at least ten points.
Leonardtown struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Leonardtown's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-1. As for Bowie, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leonardtown will take on Calvert at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Calvert is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for Bowie, they will head out on the road to face off against Parkdale at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Parkdale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday.
