The Lexington Wildcats had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 54-50 victory over Chapin on Wednesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lexington also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Lexington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Izzy Saville led the charge by scoring 17 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Sydni Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Lexington's victory bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Chapin, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-6.
Lexington will challenge River Bluff at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully River Bluff focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Wednesday. As for Chapin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dutch Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Dutch Fork presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Chapin in South Carolina (Dutch Fork is ranked 16th, while Chapin is ranked 79th).
