Basketball Game Preview: South Plantation Paladins vs. Nova Titans

The South Plantation Paladins will venture away from home to square off against the Nova Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Plantation is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.1 points per game this season.

Nova better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when South Plantation really get things going. South Plantation was the clear victor by a 65-39 margin over King's Academy on Friday. The Paladins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matchups by 23 points or more this season.

South Plantation's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Travis Chin led the charge by going 9 of 15 on his way to 18 points. Chin is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Marc Vincent was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

South Plantation smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Nova was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were dealt an 80-48 defeat at the hands of Western. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while the Wildcats are ranked 21st).

South Plantation has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.8 points per game. As for Nova, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.

Everything came up roses for South Plantation against Nova in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the squad secured a 64-18 victory. Does South Plantation have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nova turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
