The Plainview Pirates scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Central Valley 57-31. Considering Plainview has won four matchups by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plainview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Abbie Kromarek, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. Kromarek set a new season high mark in assists with seven. The team also got some help courtesy of Marque Albin, who scored 16 points along with four steals.
Central Valley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Callie Wadas, who scored five points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Cayle Grossart, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Plainview and bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for Central Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Plainview's road trip will continue as they head out to face Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] at 6:00 p.m. on January 2nd. Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Central Valley and Burwell will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Burwell is ranked 177th, while Central Valley is ranked 155th).
