Hillsboro won the last time they faced DeSoto and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hillsboro Hawks breezed by the DeSoto Dragons to the tune of 71-32. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 24 points or more this season.

Hillsboro's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cooper Mcgrath led the charge by going 6 of 8 on his way to 14 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Campbell, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 18 points in addition to seven boards and three steals.

Hillsboro's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. As for DeSoto, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Hillsboro wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-44 win against Central on the 28th. As for DeSoto, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Festus at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
