The Bedford Bearcats lost against the Maple Heights Mustangs back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Bedford received a tough blow as they fell 64-50 to Maple Heights. Bedford has struggled against Maple Heights recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Terrell Pollard and JJ Hudson certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Pollard dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds, while Hudson scored 17 points along with three steals. The game was Pollard's third in a row with at least ten points. Kam Bybee was another key contributor, scoring five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Bedford's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Maple Heights, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Bedford will be home for the holidays to greet Padua Franciscan at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Maple Heights will be staying on the road on Sunday to face off against Lake Catholic at 12:00 p.m. on December 17th. Lake Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Maple Heights likes a good challenge.
