The Cornwall Central Dragons put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Warwick 46-6 at home. The result was nothing new for Cornwall Central, who have now won eight matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Tyler Vanderpool was his usual excellent self, rushing for 324 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. Vanderpool was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 59 yards.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Warwick to a paltry 130 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Cornwall Central's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out four times before it was all said and done. Warwick's QB won't forget Jayden Scott anytime soon given Scott sacked him four times.
Cornwall Central's win was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 10-0. As for Warwick, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.
Cornwall Central will take on Our Lady of Lourdes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Our Lady of Lourdes is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Warwick does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
