Ruskin extended their losing streak to 11 on Friday, dropping them down to 1-20. They lost 20-0 to the Chrisman Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-0 back in March.
Ruskin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was TJ (Tyrien) Isaac, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.
As for Chrisman, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-14. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
On Chrisman's side, Angelo Restivo made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Restivo was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.
In other pitching news, Brayden Adair looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jackson Tabor, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Dillard, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ruskin will host Raytown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Bluejays have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.14 runs per game on average), something the Golden Eagles will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chrisman, they will be playing at home against Platte County at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
