The Aquinas Falcons had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They breezed by Arrowhead Christian at home to the tune of 72-0. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Aquinas has managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Aquinas to victory, but perhaps none more so than Igor Masalov, who scored 22 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was John Odiambo, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds.
The victory got Aquinas back to even at 10-10. As for Arrowhead Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
Aquinas won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Great Oak at 3:00 p.m. on January 13th. As for Arrowhead Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Ontario Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Ontario Christian is ranked 243rd, while Arrowhead Christian is ranked 262nd).
