Basketball Recap: Skyline Extends Winning Streak to Four

Skyline had won three straight games and Shay Shippen did her part to make it four on Thursday. The Skyline Grizzlies blew past the Uintah Utes 71-49 thanks in part to Shippen, who went 14 of 22 on her way to 34 points in addition to seven steals and six boards. She has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 25 times she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Muir, who posted two points along with six assists and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in assists.

When it comes to explaining why Uintah lost, don't look at Kenadie Maughan. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 23 points and 18 boards. Taylor Smith was another key player, putting up six points and six rebounds.

Skyline is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Uintah, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Skyline wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-50 loss against Mead on the 3rd. As for Uintah, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 38-28 victory against Century on the 3rd.
