Somonauk/Leland has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Earlville Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Earlville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Somonauk/Leland, who comes in off a win.
Somonauk/Leland scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Saturday. They walked away with a 56-43 win over Sandwich. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Somonauk/Leland considering their 18-point performance the game before.
Meanwhile, Earlville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Newark on the road and fell 61-21. Earlville was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-11.
The losing side was boosted by Madyson Olson, who scored 14 points along with two steals. That was a full 66.7% of Earlville's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Somonauk/Leland's victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-17. As for Earlville, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-15.
Somonauk/Leland strolled past Earlville in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 by a score of 48-29. Will Somonauk/Leland repeat their success, or does Earlville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
